Fulfillment New Covenant Theology is Christ Focused Theology

"Fulfillment NCT sees the Father’s inherent (& unchanging) righteousness now fully revealed within a NEW TYPE of Covenant/Law. The OC/Law was a shadow or picture in words & letters, whereas the NC is the substance reflected by the former. Noting in Isaiah 42:6, 49:8, & 55:3-4 that the promised New Covenant was not another tablet or code of statutes, but instead the Suffering Servant, Promise & fulfillment NCT affirms Christ as the New & Everlasting Covenant/Law." - composed by Steve Fuchs for the Earth Stove Society

Let it be understood by the reader that we who hold to this view are not so presumptuous to believe that we have fully grasped all that needs to be known of the New Covenant. Our labor is our own feeble attempt to bring what we consider to be the heart of the present rule of God's New Covenant in Christ Jesus into the larger dialogue of things pertaining to New Covenant Theology. A proper understanding of the New Covenant is defined by the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 3. Covenants defined by theological constructs have only served to diminish the necessity of the Spirit Inscription.

Scripture to consider.

Isaiah 42:6-8  "I am the LORD; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you; I will give you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations,  (7)  to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness.  (8)  I am the LORD; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols.

Isaiah 49:8-10  Thus says the LORD: "In a time of favor I have answered you; in a day of salvation I have helped you; I will keep you and give you as a covenant to the people, to establish the land, to apportion the desolate heritages,  (9)  saying to the prisoners, 'Come out,' to those who are in darkness, 'Appear.' They shall feed along the ways; on all bare heights shall be their pasture;  (10)  they shall not hunger or thirst, neither scorching wind nor sun shall strike them, for he who has pity on them will lead them, and by springs of water will guide them.

Isaiah 55:1-8  "Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.  (2)  Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.  (3)  Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David.  (4)  Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples.  (5)  Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know, and a nation that did not know you shall run to you, because of the LORD your God, and of the Holy One of Israel, for he has glorified you.  (6)  "Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near;  (7)  let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.  (8)  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.

Jeremiah 31:31-34  "Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,  (32)  not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the LORD.  (33)  But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.  (34)  And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

Jeremiah 32:37-42  Behold, I will gather them from all the countries to which I drove them in my anger and my wrath and in great indignation. I will bring them back to this place, and I will make them dwell in safety.  (38)  And they shall be my people, and I will be their God.  (39)  I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for their own good and the good of their children after them.  (40)  I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me.  (41)  I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.  (42)  "For thus says the LORD: Just as I have brought all this great disaster upon this people, so I will bring upon them all the good that I promise them.

Ezekiel 11:17-20  Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.'  (18)  And when they come there, they will remove from it all its detestable things and all its abominations.  (19)  And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,  (20)  that they may walk in my statutes and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

Ezekiel 36:22-27  "Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came.  (23)  And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Lord GOD, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.  (24)  I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land.  (25)  I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.  (26)  And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.  (27)  And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.

2 Corinthians 3:1-18  Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you?  (2)  You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all.  (3)  And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.  (4)  Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God.  (5)  Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God,  (6)  who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.  (7)  Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses' face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end,  (8)  will not the ministry of the Spirit have even more glory?  (9)  For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory.  (10)  Indeed, in this case, what once had glory has come to have no glory at all, because of the glory that surpasses it.  (11)  For if what was being brought to an end came with glory, much more will what is permanent have glory.  (12)  Since we have such a hope, we are very bold,  (13)  not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end.  (14)  But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away.  (15)  Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts.  (16)  But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.  (17)  Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.  (18)  And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Galatians 3:1-3  O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified.  (2)  Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?  (3)  Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?

John 6:45  It is written in the Prophets, 'And they will all be taught by God.' Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me--

John 7:37-39  On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.  (38)  Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'"  (39)  Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
